Matthew C. Helland

Matt Helland’s optimism and attention to detail is invaluable to furthering his client’s cause. Having been involved in significant and complex litigation early in his practice, Matt has developed the skills necessary to be a successful litigator.

Matt is faithful to the employee’s cause, handling both large class actions and individual matters involving a variety of employment law issues, including WARN Act claims, sexual harassment, discrimination, breach of contract, whistle blowing, defamation, wage and hour, and severance negotiations. Matt serves as a member of NKA's National Wage and Hour Litigation Team, leading multi-plaintiff cases and group actions involving overtime and minimum wage violations under state and federal laws. Matt is also very active in the firm's WARN Act practice. He practices out of NKA's San Francisco office.

While attending the University of Minnesota Law School, Matt was a staff member and Managing Tribute Editor of the University of Minnesota Journal of Global Trade. He also participated in the Child Advocacy Clinic, representing the interests of children as a student attorney in both Family and Juvenile Court.
